A custom whiteboard marker built on the genuine STAEDTLER Lumocolor: a chisel tip laying 2 to 5mm lines in dry-wipe ink that lifts cleanly off whiteboards, glass and porcelain, in a white barrel moulded from 97% recycled polypropylene and made in Germany. A white barrel takes any print colour, which the black one does not. This is the quiet advantage of the whiteboard version and it has nothing to do with the ink. Pad print lays a single flat colour, and on white every brand colour reads at arm’s length, including navy, charcoal, deep red and dark green. On the black-barrelled permanent marker those same colours sink into the barrel and only light or bright values work. If your logo is dark and you are not willing to supply a white version of it, choose this body even if permanent ink was the original brief.

One honest note on the mock-up image. The sample shown on the barrel in these photographs is a colour gradient. Pad print cannot do that: it is one flat colour per pass. The image is STAEDTLER’s own illustration of where the print sits, not of what a gradient would look like in production. Send a one-colour version of your mark with solid shapes and clear counters, nothing thinner than about 0.3mm at final size.

Airplane-safe is the practical reason to choose dry-wipe. Dry-wipe ink is rated airplane-safe; the alcohol-based permanent version is not. If the markers are going into delegate kits flown as cabin baggage, or into an air-freighted pack for a regional office, this is the one that travels without a conversation at the counter. On a 500-piece regional rollout that difference is worth more than the few cents between the two items.

It works on glass, which is where most Singapore offices actually write. Dry-wipe ink lifts off whiteboards, glass and porcelain without ghosting, and the glass meeting-room wall has quietly become the standard writing surface in serviced offices, co-working floors and newer fit-outs here. That changes who this gift is for. A branded whiteboard marker does not go in a drawer, it lives in a room and gets picked up by whoever walks in: your logo is in front of a meeting several times a week rather than once, which is a different kind of exposure from a pen that goes home in a bag.

Note on sustainability: the barrel is 97% recycled polypropylene, which is a genuine saving, but the cap and seal are virgin plastic. We would rather say that plainly than call the whole product eco-friendly.
