Dry Safe is the reason a branded marker keeps earning its keep. Most promotional markers die the same way: someone leaves the cap off, the tip dries, the marker goes in the bin and your logo goes with it. STAEDTLER’s Dry Safe formulation lets this one sit uncapped for days and still write. That is not a marketing line, it is the specific reason to pay more than a dollar a unit for a giveaway marker. A pen that still works in month eight is a pen that is still showing your name in month eight; a dried-out one stopped advertising for you the first week.

The barrel is black, so your logo has to be opaque. This decides more artwork arguments than the print size does. Pad print lays one flat colour, and on a black barrel only light and saturated colours read: white, a bright spot colour, metallic. Navy, dark green, charcoal or a deep red will sink into the barrel and disappear at arm’s length. The mock-up here shows a bright green, which is the kind of value that works. If your brand colour is dark and you will not accept a white version of the mark, the whiteboard marker is the same body in white and takes a dark print cleanly.

Alcohol ink means this one is not airplane-safe, and its sibling is. Worth checking before you commit, because it is the kind of thing nobody raises until the week of the event. STAEDTLER rates the dry-wipe whiteboard version as airplane-safe; this permanent marker, with alcohol-based ink, is not. If the markers are going into delegate kits that fly as cabin baggage, or into a regional office pack sent by air, that distinction is the one that matters, and the whiteboard version may be the right item even though permanent ink is what you had in mind.

The chisel tip is doing two jobs, which is why it suits warehouses and events. Held flat it lays a 5mm stroke for carton marking, crate labelling and signage that has to read across a room. Turned on its edge it writes at about 2mm, fine enough for an address or a form. That range is why a chisel beats a bullet tip for anyone marking stock, labelling equipment, running a loading bay or setting up an exhibition, and it is the reason this is a working tool rather than a desk ornament.

Note on sustainability: the barrel is 97% recycled polypropylene, which is a genuine saving, but the ink is alcohol-based and the cap is virgin PP. We would rather say that plainly than call the whole product eco-friendly.
