The magnetic lid is doing a job that cheaper packaging cannot. A mailer box is opened by tearing it. This one is opened by lifting a lid that resists slightly and then closes again with a click, which is why a rigid magnetic gift box is the standard for premium onboarding kits and client gifts — the unboxing is part of the gift, and the box survives to be reused rather than going straight into recycling. At 375 x 325 x 120mm it will take a bottle laid flat, an A4 welcome pack, apparel, or a multi-item kit.

Flat-packed solves the problem that usually kills this format. Rigid boxes are normally shipped assembled, which means you pay freight on air and need somewhere to store them. These arrive flat, 20 to a carton, and fold up by hand when you are ready to pack — so 200 boxes occupy 0.4 cubic metres in a store room instead of several pallets. If you are kitting in-house, that is usually the deciding factor.

White on matt black is the print to brief, and the finish is unforgiving. Screen print lays opaque ink on an uncoated matt surface, so a single-colour white or metallic mark looks sharp and intentional. Mid-tone colours tend to go muddy against black, and fine hairlines fill in. Keep the lid artwork bold and let the 85 x 240mm front strip carry the wordmark. Two hundred boxes is ten cartons. A carton holds 20 flat boxes at 62 x 20 x 36cm, 0.04 cubic metres and 15kg, so the minimum run is around 0.4 cubic metres and 150kg.
