The 30-second version: most gift box suppliers in Singapore are packaging printers. They make an excellent box and sell you nothing to put in it. We are a corporate gift supplier that stocks the box as well, so one purchase order covers the gift, the box and the packing. Minimum order is 200 pieces, printed and delivered island-wide.
A gift box is rarely the thing someone actually set out to buy. It becomes necessary once the gift is chosen and somebody realises that a good product handed over in a poly bag undoes most of the impression it was meant to make. At that point the buyer has two unattractive options: go to a packaging printer and commission a bespoke run with a four-figure minimum and a six-week lead time, or buy plain boxes off a shelf and give up on branding entirely.
We sit between those. The box is a stocked line, so you are paying to print it rather than to tool it. The minimum is 200 rather than 1,000. And because the gifts going inside almost certainly came from us as well, the boxes do not need to be shipped to you, stored, and packed by your own staff.

The medium is now held in stock alongside the large. It measures 238 × 300 × 100 mm, folds flat the same way, carries the same magnetic lid and the same screen print, and starts at S$9.28 a piece at 200 units — the full spec sits on the medium matt black rigid gift box page. Use the medium for a notebook and pen set, a mug and coaster pairing, or a two or three piece hamper; use the large when the gift is a bottle, a bulkier drinkware set, or four or more items laid side by side.
Kraft and natural board boxes, and wine and bottle presentation boxes, are made to order rather than stocked. Lead times run longer and minimums vary by format, so tell us the dimensions of what is going inside and we will come back with the options that fit it.
Matt black is the most common premium gift box finish and the least forgiving to print on. Getting the artwork right matters more here than on a pale substrate.
The lid takes a 240 x 240mm single-colour mark and the front edge takes 85 x 240mm. Both positions are included in the same print, which is unusual and worth using — the lid carries the logo for the moment of opening, and the front strip carries the wordmark for the box sitting closed on a desk or a shelf.
Opaque white and metallic inks sit cleanly on uncoated matt black and look deliberate. Mid-tone brand colours tend to go muddy against black because there is no white underbase, and fine hairlines and small serifs fill in. The practical rule is to flatten the artwork to a single solid colour, keep strokes above roughly 1mm, and let the shape do the work rather than the detail.
This is the decision most buyers get wrong, usually by asking a packaging printer for a quote when they only needed a printed stock box, or the reverse. The two are priced and scheduled completely differently.
Choose a stocked branded box when the contents fit a standard size, you need a few hundred rather than a few thousand, and the date matters. You are paying for print only, the box already exists, and 200 pieces is a realistic minimum.
Choose a bespoke packaging run when the product needs a fitted insert, the box itself is part of the product experience you are selling to a consumer, or you are ordering in the thousands and the per-unit saving justifies the tooling. Expect a higher minimum, a longer lead time, and a die charge.

The reason to buy a gift box from a gift supplier rather than a box supplier is that the box arrives packed. We can kit the contents into the box before it leaves us, so what lands at your office is a stack of finished gifts rather than a pallet of empty boxes and a job for your team on a Friday afternoon.
