The crescent shape is the reason this gets worn and a drawstring bag does not. Worth being blunt about, because the usual event bag is a drawstring sack that goes straight into a cupboard. A crescent crossbody sits flat against the back or hip, carries a phone, wallet, keys, a small bottle and a cable without bulging, and reads as something the recipient chose rather than something they were handed. That is the whole argument for spending more than two dollars a unit: a bag that gets worn in public is advertising, and a bag in a cupboard is a cost line.
A 120 x 80mm panel on a curved, crinkled face changes what artwork works. This is the technical catch. The print area is generous, but the fabric is washed nylon with a deliberate crinkle, and it curves in two directions across the front. Transfers sit well on it, and the crinkle texture reads through a solid block of colour, which is usually a feature rather than a fault. What does not work is fine hairlines, small reversed-out type and tight registration between two colours. Keep elements above about 1mm at final size, and favour a bold mark over a detailed one. The mock-up here shows a two-colour wordmark at roughly working size.
Embroidery is the better choice if the bag is the gift, not the giveaway. The 70mm embroidery circle costs more per unit than a transfer and takes longer, but it does not crack, peel or fade, and on a dark washed nylon it reads as apparel-grade finishing rather than as a printed promo item. Transfers are right for a 500-piece event run where unit cost rules. Embroidery is right for a staff welcome pack or a client gift that has to survive two years of use and still look deliberate. Decide which of those two jobs the bag is doing before you pick the decoration, because the cost difference is small and the perception difference is not.
Nylon in Singapore: the honest version. Washed nylon is light and dries fast, which suits the climate and a commute that involves rain twice a week. It is not waterproof. There is no coating and the zip is not sealed, so a downpour will get through to the contents. If the brief is genuinely weatherproof, our 20L roll-top dry bag is the item that does that job. This one is a daily carry bag that shrugs off a shower, which is a different promise.
It suits staff welcome packs, campus and student events, retail and F&B crew bags, festival and roadshow teams, and client gifts where the recipient is likely to be commuting daily. The logo shown on the bag in these images is a print mock-up, not a client order.
