The stylus tip is the reason this one survives a desk clear out. Every meeting now involves a screen somewhere, and a conductive tip that signs a delivery tablet or scrolls a phone with wet hands gives the pen a second job. Two jobs is what keeps a giveaway on the desk.

Matte paint takes an engrave better than anodising. Laser engraving cuts through the matte layer to raw aluminium, so the logo comes up bright silver against the barrel colour. On an anodised pen the contrast is far weaker.

Recycled aluminium, which is worth saying out loud. Aluminium is one of the few materials where recycling is genuinely better than new — it takes a fraction of the energy and the metal does not degrade. If there is an environmental line in the brief, this answers it without a bamboo barrel of unclear provenance.
