Customised Dry Bags Singapore: How Roll-Top Waterproofing Works & What to Look For
A dry bag only earns its name if the waterproofing actually works — and that comes down to one detail most buyers overlook: the roll-top closure. Get that right and a customised dry bag keeps phones, cameras and clothes bone-dry through a kayak trip, a sudden downpour or a day at the beach. Get it wrong and it’s just a coloured sack. Here’s how dry bags actually work and what to look for.
The 30-second version: the roll-top (folded 3+ times and clipped) is what makes a dry bag waterproof — the fabric and welded seams matter, but the closure is the seal. Our default MOQ is 200 pieces, though it isn’t strict — smaller runs are often possible when a style is in stock or the artwork is simplified.
How the waterproofing works
A dry bag isn’t sealed like a zip-lock — it’s sealed by air. You roll the open top down over itself at least three times, then clip the buckle, which traps a cushion of air and forms a watertight roll. For that to hold, three things must be right: a coated, waterproof fabric (PVC tarpaulin or coated nylon/TPU), welded (not stitched) seams so there are no needle holes, and a stiff-enough top edge to roll cleanly.
| Element | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Closure | Roll-top, 3+ folds, secure buckle — the seal |
| Fabric | PVC tarpaulin (tough) or coated nylon/TPU (light) |
| Seams | Welded, not stitched |
| Size | 5L day-use to 20L+ for gear |
Submersible vs splash-proof
Be clear on the claim. A good roll-top dry bag is splash- and rain-proof and will keep contents dry if briefly dunked — but a standard dry bag is not a dive bag rated for sustained submersion. For corporate gifting, splash/rain protection is what almost everyone actually needs. Browse sizes in our customised dry bag range.
Branding a dry bag
The flat front panel is a big, bold canvas — a screen-printed or heat-transferred logo sits well on PVC. Bright colours read clearly and suit the outdoor, active context these bags live in. For who these make great gifts for and the best sizes per use, see our dry bags as corporate gifts guide.

You roll the open top down over itself at least three times and clip the buckle — this traps air and forms a watertight seal. A coated fabric and welded seams keep the rest of the bag waterproof.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our default MOQ is 200 pieces, but it isn’t strict — smaller runs are often possible when a style is in stock or the artwork is simplified.
