Why this one

Picnics, beach days and market runs usually call for two bags: a cool bag for food and another for everything else. This tote combines them, then splits so one person can carry the snacks while another takes the towels. The mesh base shakes out sand at East Coast Park before it reaches the car, and the insulated section works just as well for chilled drinks as for a warm lunch. Folded flat, it takes up little room in a cupboard between outings. The water-repellent recycled nylon brushes clean after a day by the sea, and the two-tone Stone or Charcoal finish looks smart enough for a corporate hamper as well as a beach bag.

Best for — and not for
