This is the set to pick when the recycled content has to be stated, not implied. We sell three notebook and pen sets around this price. The Omega Fashion set is a PU cover in nine colours and makes no environmental claim. The kraft set looks natural and uses sugarcane paper, but the cover is plain kraft board. This one is the only one where both the board and the paper are 80% sugarcane waste, the trim is RPET and the pen barrel is recycled plastic — which is the difference between a gift that looks eco and one that survives a procurement question about materials.

The sugarcane paper in this recycled notebook is bagasse, and it writes differently. Bagasse is the fibre left after sugar is pressed out of the cane — a waste stream rather than a crop grown for pulp. The resulting sheet is slightly warmer in tone than bleached paper and has a faint texture. Ballpoint and gel both work on it. If your recipients are heavy fountain pen users, request a sample first.

Brief the two pieces separately. The notebook front takes an 85 x 185mm screen print, which is a tall narrow area that suits a vertical lockup or a wordmark better than a wide horizontal logo. The pen takes a 60 x 6mm pad print, which is one line of text. The common mistake is shrinking the same wide logo onto both and ending up with something illegible on the pen.

Two hundred sets is under seven cartons. A carton holds 30 sets at 49 x 42 x 27cm, 0.06 cubic metres and 17kg, so the minimum run is roughly 0.4 cubic metres and 113kg, each set boxed individually. Stock is held, so the lead time is the branding run rather than production.
