This one costs more for three specific reasons: the pen is a matte lacquered recycled aluminium Lancer with a Dokumental refill rather than a plastic barrel, the notebook and pen are colour-matched across nine shades, and the kraft box has a fitted tray so the set presents as a gift rather than two items in a sleeve. Nine matched colourways is the feature doing the work. Most corporate sets come in black, navy and maybe grey. Having burgundy, blush, forest, sage, mustard, slate and the rest lets you match a brand palette without a custom production run, or issue different colours by department, cohort or tier. For onboarding, giving each intake a colour is a cheap way to make a standard item feel assigned rather than distributed.

Brief the two pieces differently. The notebook front takes a 115 x 190mm screen print, which is a large area — big enough for a full lockup or a pattern, and it is the surface people see. The pen takes an 80 x 7mm laser engrave or a 60 x 7mm pad print, which is a one-line wordmark and nothing more. The common mistake is shrinking the same logo onto both; put the full identity on the notebook and just the wordmark on the pen.

Two hundred sets is about seven cartons. A carton holds 30 sets at 49 x 42 x 27cm, 0.06 cubic metres and 15kg, so the minimum run is roughly 0.4 cubic metres and 100kg, each set boxed and ready to hand over with no further packing. Stock is held, so the lead time is the branding run rather than production.
