Handle length & gusset
Two specs change how a tote is used. Handle length: short handles are hand-carry (events, gifting); longer handles clear the shoulder (daily carry, shopping) and are the ones people reuse most. Gusset: a flat tote packs flat and suits documents; a gusseted base gives depth for groceries and bulkier contents. Pick the pair that matches how the bag will actually be carried.
